Organisational Work

Organisational Work
Organisational Work 7th September 2010

In these challenging financial times I am working with organisations to increase their internal capacity - helping companies to do their own assessment and development centres, their own coaching and their own training. This reduces their reliance on external consultants, who, let's face it, can be expensive.

Sometimes an organisation simply needs a straightforward update to their skills set. They need their managers to have more facilitation skills, their team members to communicate more effectively in presentations, for their women employees to be more assertive, for everyone to deal with stress more effectively.

Sometimes a culture change is required, involving a strategy for organisational development that stretches over a longer time period and encompasses a wider range of solutions. It needs to really provide what its customers want, instead of the organisation’s idea of what the customer wants and its usual way of meeting it.

Sometimes a team realises it is being less effective than it could be, or gets stuck in some way and its usual strategies for un-sticking itself no longer work. Its patterns of behaviour have become self-defeating, on personal, interpersonal and business issues. More often than not they are unaware of the ways in which they contribute to their problems and unwanted outcomes.

Sometimes standard training or development programmes are not the answer to increased personal performance. The individual may need time, space and privacy to explore the issues that concern them with someone who will support and challenge their thinking and behaviour.

I work with organisations on all these levels.

  • Targeted leadership development programmes
  • Team development
  • Culture change initiatives for long-term change
  • Personal development and process awareness programmes
  • Leadership coaching
  • Personality and psychometric profiling
  • 360 degree feedback
  • Assessment and development centres
  • Internal capacity development
